Photography Style.
I encourage my clients to save a few interior images or reference interior magazines they love. We will review this on the day of the photoshoot during the initial briefing and walk-through.
My photography style leans more towards that of printed interior magazines. I use natural light as far as possible and flash and light modifiers for sculpting. Sculpting with light is a key element used in photographing interiors. It enhances textures, adds depth, lifts and preserves true colour.
Creating that
“Must Stay” factor
is key.
Until the jobs done vs an hourly rate.
Photographers often charge an hourly rate and try to capture your accommodation within an hour or two. A general hurry-hurry tone is set and finer details get overlooked.
I generally like to spend an entire day and evening so that all photography can be captured during that time. On larger projects it could be extended to two to three days.
I never work on hourly rates, the detail and complexity needed for interior photography cannot fit that glove.
Photo Packages are exported in the following sizes.
Photos are exported to four major platforms, namely;
- Instagram, sizes: square (Post & Ad), portrait Post, portrait Story.
- Facebook, sizes: square Ad, square Carousel, landscape Post, portrait Post.
- Airbnb: size 3:2 ratio at Airbnb’s optimal size.
- Lekkeslaap: size 3:2 ratio at Lekkeslaap’s optimal size.

How many photos do you require?
Aim for three to 10 images.
- If the accommodation offered is a room – 3 to 5.
- If the accommodation offered is a self-catering lodge, usually free-standing – 5 – 10
- Adding to this photographs need to be taken in portrait and landscape orientations.
Most accommodation platforms recommend at least 25 to 50 images. Their stats have shown that accommodations that have more photos had lead to more bookings.
